"A Jedi will always seek the truth... I will expose the dark side's deceit." ~ Zureth Dar
Zureth Dar is a respected yet sometimes maverick Jedi Knight who serves as a Shadow to the Council of First Knowledge. He was Padawan to Master Volad Losk, and as a student of the Living Force, he ha beens noted for his telekentic powers in The Force as well as investigative prowess. Often his work for the Jedi Council and more specifically the Council of First Knowledge dealt with matters of internal affairs, seeking out Sith threats, lost artifacts, dealing with criminal threats to the Order or Republic and on the rare occasion political situations. Many described him as wise, quick witted, but sometimes self-inclusive.

Personality and Traits
Jedi Zureth Dar was a fit but more lightweight Zabrak with midnight black hair that covered only three parts of his otherwise bald head. A seeker of knowledge and understanding, Zureth believed in patience and calculation before any task as he felt those who rushed into things were only dooming themselves. A follower of the Living Force, he was still wise enough not to cast off other methods and teachings, believing that solutions could be found through a variety of skills and methods.
As his work took him further along the path of a Shadow Zureth went from an outgoing person to a more secluded one, rarely seen except when on a mission. This personality while inconvenient for most did not effect his time or teachings with his Padawan, Drest Rorschana. In fact many would say the two had a unique relationship as Master and Padawan filled with quick quips and sharp banter however it seemed that it was never in spite or darkness but instead a way for the two to lighten the mood during their missions. In combat Zureth believed in not only the art of surprise but in balance as well. He was noted for being able to effectively use not only his Saberstaff as a weapon when needed but also the Force. Also his Saberstaff unlike most others was not long and announced but instead had a shorter more elegant hilt which caused many to think he wielded only one blade. Thus when it was ignited the art of surprise came to his advantage as his opponents quickly understood they had to face a Niman practitioner.
Zureth's Story
A Beginning
Zureth Dar was born in the spring of 17 BTC to two humble shop keepers operating out of the main space port in Wortan on Iridonia. By chance when a two Jedi passed through the port during a mission to the planet they sensed the Force sensitivity in the young Zabrakian and with his parents’ consent to him to be trained as a Jedi. Until the age of four he was simply taken care of and brought up through his infancy until training could begin like every other youngling. At the age of three he was assigned to Clan Boma and until the age of ten he studied with his clan. It was noted during his time in the clan that Zureth had the gift of psychometry, a hint of his potential for telekinetic force powers.
The Padawan Years
At the age of nine Zureth became a Padawan to Master Volak Losk and began his more advanced training and studies of the Force. Accompanying his master on missions was nothing out of the ordinary for him and his unique gift as well as his his quick study of the Makashi form and using it with his telekinetic force skills made him a well-regarded fighter when needed. For all of his skill in Form II however an incident which exposed it's weakness to blaster bolt deflects and cost Zureth a blaster bolt to the shoulder on a mission caused him to reconsider his skills and studies and eventually he took up study in Form VI, eventually mastering it after close to ten years of study.
Missions had at first started off around solving everything from humanitarian issues due to the ongoing Galactic War to at one point resolving a political dispute on a mining planet that threated to overthrow the government thanks to a Sith manipulation. Zureth and Losk were also involved in numerous combat missions throughout their time together. Master Losk was a strong proponent in the concept of the Living Force and was very mindful in taking his time to teach Zureth about it. Often they would divert in travel when Master Losk felt the Force calling for their need elsewhere and it was this compassion and moral compass that was instilled into Zureth. Zureth himself liked to see deeper into their missions and things surrounding them. He always felt investigation was key and a necessary step for all missions, even diplomatic ones as he wanted to see the bigger picture or the smallest detail. His knack for such investigations led him to training with Republic Trooper in the basics of cybernetworking and his two new found skills served him well throughout his years as a Padawan.
It was in the year 3 ATC however that a mission involving the Padawan and his Master following up on the origins of the Sith Artifact they had encountered a few years past turned fatal when an Imperial Agent claimed the life of Master Losk with a fatal wound before escaping from a wounded Zureth. After Master Losk's death and Padawan Dar's dedication to finish the mission and discover the truth of a Sith plot the Jedi Council determined that Zureth was ready for knighthood.
A Jedi Knight
In the winter of 4 ATC Zureth was knighted by the Jedi Council and was assigned to the Council of First Knowledge. At first his work began dealing with diplomatic issues and just as his past Padawan work did however his work quickly turned to investigative for the Council. The Consulars work soon led him to dealing with unnatural happenings on planets that called for a Jedi presence, hunting down dark artifacts and other dangerous objects which threatened the Jedi Order, as well as investigating other important matters within and outside of the Order as deemed necessary. Soon both fields of work began to balance themselves out and Zureth even found himself becoming more like his master as he let the Force guide him to places and people in need, even if he was in the middle of another mission.
In the year 9 ATC Zureth was sent to Coruscant, his first time back in five years. There he was ordered to investigate the unofficial reforming of a militant organization known as The Coruscant Vanguard, one which died out years ago but seemed to be afoot once more with a Jedi at the helm. Accepting the request of the Council Zureth began his investigation investigation and eventually found himself seeing eye to eye with the militant group. Zureth's initial report suggested that The Order "unoffically" support the group by ignoring it due to the good it brought. Zureth offered unoffical support for the group going as far as to help it on missions and in an advisory role but he continued to allow the Force to take him where he was needed, even when that was off planet or across the galaxy.
In the year 10 ATC Zureth was summoned back to Tython before the Jedi Council when a holomessage had been sent of the now Cypher Agent, Prak'Vid Tann assassinating a Jedi Master and claiming he had killed more. Sensing a Sith Plot and knowing his knowledge of the Chiss agent, Dar was sent to track him down and bring him to justice while discovering his true motive. In the end Zureth unravaled a much larger plot involving Lord Sentio of the Sith Empire and a Sith relic that had driven Prak'Vid to the Dark Side. It was also during this mission that Zureth's lightsaber was destroyed and he took up a saberstaff of a fallen Jedi. Zureth felt such a connection to the weapon thanks to his training in the Niman form that he has since chosen to stick with it. After this mission The Council of First Knowledge named Zureth a Shadow of the Jedi Order and assigned him permanently to work within the Coruscant Sector. While he continues to serve as an Adviser and guide to the Vanguard on Coruscant much of his time now is spent in solitude or away on missions which he rarely speaks of.
