Demeanor

Kodin has had an unfortunate past which has made him into the man he is today. Cold and uncaring to all but his son, Kodin takes care of business with grim precision. However, he knows how to be a bit playful around beautiful women he meets.

Mind

He is about as book-smart as the average Corellian, which isn't saying a whole lot. His 'street-smarts' is top notch. He knows when he is being taken advantage of and knows just how to counter against it. He can barter quite well, despite the lack of a 'refined' tongue.

He is usually not known to show any sort of emotion. He hides his true feelings very well, but 'can' be pushed to the point of losing his temper at times.

History

Kodin Fel was born in 36 BTC on Corellia. His family was strong supporters of the Galactic Republic, and that pride became strong in Kodin as well. At the age of 18, Kodin joined the Republic Army in order to help fight in the Great Galactic War. During his first year of enlistment, he was able to see the front lines rather quickly, as he had qualified to be in the Republic Special Forces. The one notable conflict he took part in was the Battle of Bothawui. It was during this battle that Kodin met the Jedi Knight, Nautara Callani, who was a Mirialan assigned to his squad.

Age 18, in the Republic Special Forces

As time went on, Kodin and Nautara fell in love with one another. This led to their marriage in 16 BTC, and subsequently, Nautara's expulsion from the Jedi Order. Kodin fares no better as he is shunned by his family on Corellia for marrying someone who is not Corellian.

Only two years later, Kodin and Nautara had their first child together, a boy they named Tobas. Nautara gave birth to Tobas on Coruscant, which is where Kodin and she had decided to settle down, as they would be near Nautara's relatives for support. During this same year, Kodin's first enlistment with the Republic Army was up, so he decided to go ahead and resign so that he could be around his son more often.

Unfortunately, Kodin had trouble making credits to support his family. He decided to utilize his his piloting abilities and become a smuggler. Some friends he knew back on Corellia were able to set him up with some contacts so that he could get some jobs fairly quick. The only catch was that he would need his own ship. Kodin managed to come across a junked D5-Mantis Patrol Craft in a scrapyard on Coruscant. Despite Nautara's protests, Kodin invested what little credits they had left into getting the Mantis into working order. Once he finished the repairs on the Mantis, Kodin named the ship, Emerald Dawn.

On 11 BTC, Kodin accepted a job to pick up some illegal goods before the Black Sun was able to get a hold of it. On the way back after obtaining the goods, Kodin was hailed by a Black Sun ship that demanded he gave up the goods. Kodin refused, as his family was in dire need of the credits, which quite a substantial amount had been offered for the job. With his superior piloting skills, Kodin managed to evade the Black Sun vessel and return to the contact who was set up to collect the goods. After he returned home on Coruscant, Kodin found his home empty with a holomessage from the Black Sun waiting for him. The message stated that his wife and son had been kidnapped. Kodin would have to pay three times the amount that he had initially been offered for the job if he wanted to get his family back safely. Without enough credits to cover the ransom, Kodin was forced to get a hold of a few old friends he knew from being in the Republic Special Forces.

With the help of his contacts, Kodin managed to track down where his wife and son were being held. After a daring rescue attempt, Kodin managed to get them free, however, Nautara was killed as she defended Tobas during their escape. Kodin managed to get Tobas to safety, but was worried that the Black Sun would continue to target him, so he decided to take a course of action that had already been suggested by Nautara's parents before. Kodin felt that the safest place for Tobas would be within the Jedi Order. Tobas was Force-sensitive and would be in the safety of Jedi, away from the Black Sun's influence. It was with a heavy heart that Kodin allowed the Jedi Order to train his son, as he feared he would not get to see his son grow up. Afterwards, Kodin continued to work as a smuggler so that he could provide for Tobas's future.

Beginning life as a Bounty Hunter

After the Sacking of Coruscant in 00 ATC, Kodin felt that not even the Jedi could keep his son safe. He was very thankful that Tobas had survived through that battle, but wished for his son to come and be with his father. Tobas, who had become alienated from his father, refused to leave the Order for Kodin. Because of this, the Jedi would not allow Kodin to remove his son from the Order. Furious, Kodin fell down a path of depression and ended up squandering much of the credits he had saved up. Meanwhile, a Black Sun representative got in touch with Kodin, offering a proposition to keep the Black Sun off his back forever. Kodin would have to take on a few jobs for them as a bounty hunter, but would still get paid a fair amount of credits. They were initially impressed with the stunt he pulled those years back when he rescued his son. Considering his background, the Black Sun felt that Kodin would be a good investment as a bounty hunter. Tired of running from the Black Sun and feeling like he had nothing left to lose, Kodin accepted the proposal.

Preparing for vengeance

Over time, Kodin became known for his ability as a bounty hunter. Because of this, the job offers kept coming and they paid significantly more than any of the smuggling jobs he had done in the past. In 10 ATC, Kodin got his highest paying job offer from Darth Vorlen. He was chosen along with other bounty hunters to take down a Sith named Bril'dura. It was this job that marked Kodin's first failure as a hunter. He was nearly destroyed by Bril'dura, but was spared in the end. It was because of this, among other reasons, that Kodin grew to detest Bril'dura and have a personal vendetta against him. After the fight, his body had been badly burned from his suit malfunctioning and he had suffered severe nerve damage from the Sith's manipulation of his mind through the Force. It took several cybernetic implants just to get himself back on par with his former ability. Investing even more credits, he took on additional implants to enhance his body even further. After getting a new suit that would not suffer the same problems his old one had, Kodin set out to track down and destroy Bril'dura.
