Family

Chérub'astra was born on Tatooine, the second youngest of 5 sisters. Her mother, Étoile Vue-d'ange, is a scientist and a teacher, one quarter Miraluka, though entirely human in appearance. Her father, Casper, born on Nar Shaddaa, was an engineer for Czerka Corporation, who stayed on Tatooine after Czerka left, to marry Étoile. Casper then turned his technical skills to the equipement of moisture farming.

Her sisters are, from eldest to youngest, Sol'ange, Stell'ange, Célest'ange, and Séraph'astra Vue-d'ange.

The Death of her Father

Eight years ago, when Chérub'astra was was 16, Casper returned to Czerka, the Corporation having at that point returned to Tatooine. Czerka killed him. Cher knows her sister Stell's theory that he gave himself up to save them, but she remains angry over his leaving and over his death. What she perceived as his abandonment of his family when she was in the throes of adolescence, created in her a strong, natural distrust of men.

A Rescue Mission

Six years ago, slavers raided a nearby market, in a raid the size of which rural Tatooine had not seen before, kidnapping a large number of people, 40 of whom were from Chérub'astra's village, including her middle sister, Célest'ange. Cher had always been closest to Celest, the two of them growing up being rather much tomboys together. When her sister Stell'ange decided to head out to try to find and rescue Célest, Cher wore her down night and day until she accepted to bring her along on the mission. The village pooled all ressources in order to give the girls enough to secure a second-hand, well-worn ship from Anchorhead and they set out for Nar Shaddaa, their first stop trying to track the slavers.

Shortly after their arrival on Nar Shadda, Stell and Cher met a smuggler, who went simply by the name of Ulwan, and who helped them learn the ins and outs of the smuggling trade - who to talk to, who not to talk to, and such. Cher did not trust him from the beginning, and was increasingly frustrated with her sister's growing infatuation with him. When Stell started sleeping on his ship, Cher was furious. She grew growingly suspicious when one day Ulwan told her that he had found information relating to Célest, but it was time sensitive and so Stell had set out on her own to follow it up. After three days of hearing nothing from Stell, and getting nowhere in her questions of Ulwan, she set out to find her own resources in order to find out the truth of what was going on for herself.

Cher made a deal with a minor, little known Hutt, Fierfek, to get help to find Stell. Through him, she learned that Stell had been sold into slavery to a minor Sith Lord. She sought to make a deal with the Hutt, to get the help she needed to rescue Stell. The Hutt agreed, but at a heavy price. He insisted on Cher receiving new, prototype cybernetic implants he was working on and required five years of her service to him, as smuggler, spy, assassin, mercenary, any way in which he would have need of her services. Cher agreed and set out with the strike team with which he provided her to find and rescue Stell. She found Stell, on the Sith's ship, three weeks after she had been taken. The state in which Cher found her, however, brought out such rage in her that it touched on the Force sensitivity that she had through her Miraluka blood, but had never used. When the Sith came in on the team as they were rescuing Stell, Cher lost all control and her rage exploded out of her through the Force, reducing the Sith to a charred corpse before he even knew he was facing someone with force abilities. Cher was aghast at what she had done, not at having killed the Sith, which she gladly would have done again, but rather the way in which an explosion of force energy had come out of her, not only destroying the Sith, but also badly burning two of her team members. She swore on that day that she would never let herself touch the Force again.

Cher helped Stell heal and recover, and the two continued their rescue mission. During Stell's recovery, Cher decided she had to do something about her cybernetic implants, as they clearly still had design flaws, and were causing her mind crushing headaches. As their removal would have left significant scarring, she instead had them replaced with the best stable implants currently available. After a total of two and a half years of searching, Stell and Cher found Célest'ange, only to have her betray them. Stell and Cher barely made it out alive. Cher was devestated by the betrayal of the sister to whom she was the closest, and is still furious with her over it and over her choice of the Empire over the Republic. She has had no contact with Célest since that day.

After the two sisters returned from their unsuccessful rescue mission, Stell found out about Cher's debt to Fierfek Hutt and took over the debt without Cher knowing about it. Cher was originally furious, but Fierfek would not even see her to discuss changing the deal back. She realized that at least this left her free and decided the best thing for her to do was to take her battle to the Empire and fight them in the Republic Army. She joined the military 6 months after returning to Tatooine.

Current History and Status

Cher is currently still in the training stages of her service in the Republic Army.

Affiliations

She retains no affiliations, lest they interfere with her service to the Republic Army in its fight against the Empire.

Personality Traits

Cher is naturally untrusting, especially of men. She knows the effect she or any woman can have on them and considers them weak and unreliable because of it.

She works equally well alone or with a team. She will contentedly follow orders, as long as they are clear. She tends to take over the giving of the orders if she finds herself dealing with incompetent or simply poorly organized leadership.

She needs little convincing to join a group for an evening of drinking and socializing, but will rarely drink much herself, though she is discreet about it, prefering to always remain in control.

She is fluent in both Basic and in French, which she learned from her mother.
