Demeanor
Bril'dura is an honorable Twi'lek who has much respect for his people's heritage. However, he has grown tired of being subjugated by others stronger or more influential than him. To this end, he has grown to be quite vengeful. All the while, his sensitivity to the Force has continued to grow and has given him the tools to seek his vengeance, which has led him to become quite unpredictable at times as he is seduced by the Dark Side. He is usually fairly ill-tempered and impatient.
Mind
Despite his upbringing in a lower caste clan, he has grown to be fairly intelligent, mainly due to his curious nature. He is more reactive than proactive, and his emotions can tend to cloud his judgement.

History
Bril'dura was born in the small mining town of Lohema on Ryloth, home world of the Twi'leks. The year based on the current Galactic Standard Calendar was 14 BTC. Born as a Darian Twi'lek into the lower caste Dura clan, Bril'dura was raised to have great respect for the stone and earth while he praised the Great Mother Goddess, Kika'lekki. His family had a strong regard towards Twi'lek tradition.
In order to make enough credits to survive on, his family did what many others of his clan did, which was to mine for Ryll. The governing body of the Rooshan Clan compensated Clan Dura for all mined Ryll. The Ryll eventually made it's way back to the clan of Hutts whom resided on the planet, where it was distributed across the galaxy.
At the age of eight, Bril'dura met a seven year-old Tyrian Twi'lek named Di'auna who was from the higher caste Una Clan. While not a noble caste, Una Clan was made up of Sesk'kesva (those of a merchant caste). Regardless, Di'auna's family was still realitively poor in respect to many other families in the Una Clan. Di'auna and Bril'dura spent much time playing together throughout the Twilightlands of Ryloth. One of their favorite places to hang out was the Floating Rock Gardens. They became fast friends, and remained so for many years. By 1 BTC, at the age of 13 (the age of a young adult for the Twi'leks) he professed his love to Di'auna, who loved him in return. Shortly after, during the same year, she came of age for the Vassij'ra (the custom of selling the first born daughter of a poor family into slavery to ensure the family’s survival). Bril'dura protested outright to the Head Clans, which brought great disrespect to Clan Dura. Bril'dura was punished severely by Clan Dura, in order to bring honor back to the clan. Afterwards, he began his work in the mines with his father and mother.
During 1 ATC, at the age of 15, Bril'dura found himself subject to Vassij'ra, as his parents had no daughters and he being the eldest of three sons. Coincidently, it seemed as though many other families without any daughters had fallen subject to Vassij'ra, resulting in an unusual amount of male Twi'lek being sold to the Hutts. Aiming to honor the Vassij'ra for the sake of his family, Bril'dura gave no resistance as he was transported off planet along with a group of Twi'lek males to the planet Begeren in the Esstran Sector, deep into Sith territory. While on the transport, he met a fellow Darian Twi'lek of Clan Dura named Sil'aisdura who was only a year older than Bril'dura.
It was on Begeren where Bril'dura worked in the gemstone quarry, managed by the Sith Empire's slave drivers. Over time, Bril'dura befriended Sil'aisdura as they both watched out for one another during the difficult life on Begeren.
By 6 ATC, a Sith Zabrak by the name of Vorlen Bukkar had come to Begeren to seek out force-sensitive aliens who can be trained to be Sith. Of the hopefuls, Vorlen decided to test Bril'dura's potential. In order to do so, he orchestrated a situation that put Sil'aisdura in a position to get himself in trouble in order to protect Bril'dura. Vorlen ensured that Sil'aisdura would be publically punished, ensuring that Bril'dura was present. During Sil'aisdura's punishment, he was beaten so badly that he ended up dying. Knowing the guards had obviously gone overboard on the punishment, Bril'dura went into a frenzy and lept toward the closest guard. Mercilessly, Bril'dura crushed the throat of the human guard with his bare hands as he choked him. The other guards quickly detained him, and would have had him executed, however, Vorlen prevented this and had Bril'dura taken to his private quarters. It was clear to Vorlen that Bril'dura had potential with the Force as he sensed the strength of the Twi'lek as the guard had been chocked to death. Vorlen presented Bril'dura with the option of training under him or being destroyed, going as far as threatening the welfare of his family back on Ryloth. Bril'dura eventually agreed to the training, seeing little choice to do otherwise.
Over the next few years, Bril'dura spent time training with Vorlen on Begeren, preparing to become worthy to be accepted into the Sith Academy on Korriban. During this time, while running an errand for Vorlen among the imperial compound, Bril'dura discovered Di'auna dancing for high ranking imperial patrons in a bar of some sort. Bril'dura was pleasantly surprised by this interesting twist of fate.
In an attempt to gain Bril'dura's trust, Vorlen discovered Bril'dura's feelings for Di'auna. He arranged for the two of them to be able to meet privately once a week over the next couple of months. As Bril'dura began getting renewed hope for his future with Di'auna, Vorlen arranged for Di'auna to be executed. Vorlen explained to Bril'dura that it had been one of the other Sith at the compound who had found out about the meetings between Di'auna and Bril'dura which led to that Sith, a human named Cade Tharis, arranging to have her executed. Bril'dura pleaded to Cade to not have her executed, but it only resulted in Bril'dura's punishment for speaking in such a way to a Sith. To complete his scheme, Vorlen arranged for Cade to be Di'auna's executioner. The execution was public and was meant to serve as an example to all of the other slaves. Once again, Bril'dura was forced to witness the death of someone he cared for. In a fit of rage, Bril'dura lashed out at Cade. The Sith easily dispatched the Twi'lek, slashing his crimson lightsaber towards Bril'dura's head, but the Twi'lek managed to lean back just far enough to avoid the blow. As Bril'dura landed flat on his back as he lost his footing, Cade stood over him and was about to deliver the killing blow, but Vorlen ignited his own lightsaber and blocked the strike. Cade decided to back down, but took the responsibility of punishing the twi'lek. After taking him to the brink of death with wave after wave of Force Lightning, Lord Cade had a slave brand permanently burned into his face that designated Bril'dura as Lord Cade's property.
Bril'dura has since made an oath to himself that once he was strong enough, he would hunt down Cade and end him. By 10 ATC, Bril'dura, along with a few other slaves had been accepted as acolytes at the Sith Academy on Korriban. Bril'dura attempted to convince himself that he would not allow himself to be consumed by the Dark side. He would gain the power he needed to strike down those who rightfully deserve it. Afterwards, he would seek Kika'lekki's (the Great Mother Goddess) blessing and return to his family. However, Bril'dura was unaware of how far he had fallen down the Dark path already.
Current Events
In Search of a Legacy Forgotten
Over the next couple of months, Bril'dura endured severe training. Lord Vorlen had done well to prepare the twi'lek for the harsh trials, yet it still pushed Bril'dura to his limit and beyond.
Unfortunately, being what other humans referred to as 'alien', Bril'dura found himself against great adversity in respect to his peers. There were other non-human and non-sith around the academy, but not many survived very long. Even those few would do what they could to survive by conspiring and scheming.
Fortunatly, the Force was unusually strong for a durian twi'lek. Usually, it was the tukian twi'leks who were more Force-sensitive. This was especially true for Sesk'nabsilai caste on Ryloth.
Over time, Bril'dura had grown to despise what he had become, transformed by his passion for vengeance. However, he had a certain respect for those of the Sith who had earned their place as great warriors. He may not enjoy becoming Sith, but he would rather grow strong and hope to overcome the passion of evil, instead of having his life ended prematurely. In death, he would never have a chance to avenge Sil'aisdura and Di'auana. As a twi'lek of honor and pride, he gave the Sith their respect due as he served under them so as to strengthen his resolve.
Once Bril'dura completed his trials, Lord Vorlen returned to Korriban to clam the twi'lek as his apprentice. From there, Lord Vorlen took Bril'dura to Dromund Kaas to better refine his new apprentice.
Lord Vorlen told Bril'dura of Saeda's Holocron and steps he was taking to track down the artifact. Bril'dura's master ensured that he was to be well equipped to assist him in this endeavor. With the financial connections that Lord Vorlen had, and the training of a Sith, this would not be a problem.
Once Bril'dura and Lord Vorlen arrived on Dromund Kaas, the twi'lek entered into more specialized training with his master that pushed him to his limits. In between training sessions, Vorlen would utilize his resources to try to track down anything that was connected to the symbol of Lord Saeda that had been found on both Begeren and Korriban.
During one of the tasks he was completing, Bril'dura came across a group of Revanites. As he learned of their Order, he grew fascinated by it's teachings that disregarded both the light and dark side of the Force. Unfortunately, to directly involve himself with the Order of Revan would most assuredly lead him to a swift death upon discovery by the Sith Order. If Bril'dura was to learn of teachings that went against the Sith Order, it would have be done in a much more subtle fashion. Besides, going against the Sith Order would be dishonorable towards his master. The twi'lek may not agree with many of the Sith's methods, but he was done with bringing dishonor to himself and all those around him.
Lord Vorlen eventually discovered a connection to Saeda's Holocron. He had found a datapad that had been seized by the Empire, along with a lot of Czerka equipment from Tatooine. The datapad, while slightly damaged, contained an inventory that included certain items that held the description of the very symbol that Vorlen had been searching for. Due to some data corruption, it lacked any information on Saeda's Holocron, which could be interpreted as either bad news or good news.
Lord Vorlen then requisitioned for a Fury-class Imperial Interceptor that had previously been the property of a recently deceased Sith Lord. The ship also included a protocal/medical droid named 2V-S10. Vorlen offered the ship to Bril'dura to assist him in his search for the holocron so that Vorlen could spend his time continuing to research anything connected to Lord Saeda through the databases on Dromund Kaas. Bril'dura's master insisted that he name the vessel. The name that Bril'dura ended up choosing was the 'Grim Tempest'.
On his way to Tatooine, Bril'dura stopped by Nar Shadda to refuel and resupply. While on the planet, he took advantage of a non-profit organization that was distributing vaccines for the Rhakgoul virus. During this time, he also met a couple of other Twi'lek, one of which was known as Zentoyo. This particular Twi'lek told Bril'dura about the sport known as 'Huttball'. A well known team of the sport were on the Promenade signing huttballs during this time. Zentoyo was insistent that Bril'dura take a signed ball with him before he left the planet.
On Tatooine, Bril'dura followed the coordinates to a cave out in the Jundland Wastes. It was there that he discovered the ghost of Lord Tolkl Uub, a Sith who wore a menacing mask that covered his entire head. It was through talking with the ghost that Bril'dura learned that not only was Tolkl Uub a Tukian Twi'lek who had his lekku cut off by his sect and was exiled from Ryloth (deeming him to be a Runan), but that he was also one of Bril'dura's ancestors. Lord Tolkl told Bril'dura of the Saeda Holocron and urged that Bril'dura not take the holocron to his master, but instead, use it's knowledge for himself. He continued to tell Bril'dura that he was bound to the cave until his honor could be restored. Tolkl wished to help Bril'dura succeed in learning the secrets of Lord Saeda where Tolkl, himself, had failed. Bril'dura refused, stating that he was honor-bound to his master. The only other information that Bril'dura got from the ghost was that it was an archaeologist that had taken all of Tolkl's belongings, including the holocron. Overall, Bril'dura is a bit skeptical in believing the words of the Force ghost.
Bril'dura reported his findings to his master via the holoterminal on his ship. Lord Vorlen instructed his apprentice to return to Dromund Kaas for further instruction. Upon returning to Dromund Kaas, the Twi'lek was able to have an encrypted communication channel setup across the HoloNet. After broadcasting a secret message over the HoloNet, Bril'dura worked on formulating a group of Twi'lek who were cut off from Ryloth. This 'Zen'ka Sect', which Bril'dura aptly named, would become a support group for all Twi'lek who sought out to respect the customs and traditions of their people. Bril'dura went through the trouble to setup this group as he felt it was the desire of Kika'lekki. The Twi'lek hoped that this would bring him closer to achieving Rynne.
The inaugural meeting of the Zen'ka Sect took place at the Violet Lounge of the Upper Promenade on Nar Shaddaa. It was a risky endeavor to organize such a group without the Hutts taking notice, however, many of the Twi'leks who were really in need of the Zen'ka Sect's support were planet-bound to Nar Shaddaa. It was during this inaugural meeting that Bril'dura came across Zentoyo once again. Along with her, Bril'dura became better acquainted with Ayy, Tuka, and Shalyse (a Kocceille Twi'lek).
Eventually, Lord Vorlen discovered information on a group of mercenaries that had come across artifacts that had once been in the possession of an archaeologist around the same relevant time period. Vorlen planned to make contact with a few different individuals on Tatooine connected to the long-since disbanded group of mercenaries. Both Lord Vorlen and his apprentice, Bril'dura, traveled to Tatooine to confront these contacts.
To the Victor go the Spoils
After learning that the Saeda Holocron was located on Nar Shaddaa, in the hands of a collector of Sith
antiquities, Bril’dura headed towards Hutt Space. Meanwhile, Lord Vorlen returned to Dromund Kaas to
take care of matters that required his presence.
On Nar Shaddaa, Bril’dura found the wealthy collector dead in his own home. Unfortunately, the entire
place had been ransacked before the Twi’lek had arrived, and the holocron was nowhere to be found.
Shortly after, Lord Vorlen contacted Bril’dura via HoloNet and told him that Lord Cade’s apprentice,
Jobis, was docked on Nar Shaddaa. Knowing that more than likely Jobis had traveled there to obtain the
holocron, Lord Vorlen directed Bril’dura to hurry to Docking Bay 82 and hopefully intercept Jobis before
he left the planet.
Arriving at Docking Bay 82, Bril’dura was just on time to see Jobis’ ship begin to take-off. Quickly,
Bril’dura threw a magnetic homing beacon at the ship. Hoping to track the ship, Bril’dura headed back
to the Grim Tempest and pursued Jobis. Luckily, Jobis stayed within the same star system and had only
traveled to Nar Shaddaa’s moon, Nal Hutta.
On Hutta, Bril’dura confronted Jobis, who had just finished contacting Lord Cade, giving him coordinates
to meet up in the swamps near Jiguuna, amidst the local Evocii. The two Sith battled fiercely in a
lightsaber duel, where Jobis had the upper hand. Even utilizing his Force techniques, Bril’dura had a
much more difficult time against the Sith than he had expected. After nearly getting killed multiple
times, Bril’dura managed to defeat Jobis and end his life. The Twi’lek sliced into a secure lockbox that
Jobis had with him and discovered a holocron within. It matched the exact description of Saeda’s
Holocron.
After relaying this information to Lord Vorlen via HoloNet, the Twi’lek’s master commanded him to
return to Dromund Kaas immediately. Bril’dura urged his master to allow him to wait for Lord Cade’s
arrival so that he could finally face and defeat the Sith who had murdered the love of his life. Lord
Vorlen insisted that Bril’dura would surely be defeated in such an encounter, and demanded that he
return. Bril’dura obeyed his master and left Nal Hutta to deliver Saeda’s Holocron to his master.

After bringing his master the holocron, Bril’dura requested that he be allowed some time to train on
Tatooine. After the Twi’lek’s encounter with Jobis, he felt it necessary to seek out the ghost of Lord
Tolkl and see if the Tolkl’s teachings could lead him to become more connected to the Force. Once
Bril’dura explained these reasons to Lord Vorlen, the Zabrak permitted Bril’dura his request.
A Collision with Destiny
Soon after Bril’dura had left Dromund Kaas, Lord Vorlen was approached by Lord Cade who had arrived
on the planet after Bril’dura had already departed. Lord Cade demanded to know where Vorlen’s
apprentice had gone to, having a firm suspension that it was Bril’dura who had killed his apprentice,
Jobis. Lord Vorlen would not relinquish his apprentice’s whereabouts, which forced Lord Cade to use his
resources on Dromund Kaas and discover Bril’dura’s location for himself.
An entire month of searching proved fruitless for Lord Cade, up until Lord Vorlen allowed certain intel
to be leaked, leading to Bril’dura’s location. He did this purposefully, knowing that Lord Cade would
pursue. Within no time, Cade was on his way to Tatooine. Meanwhile, Bril’dura had used that time to
learn everything he could from the ghost of Lord Tolkl.
Fortunately, Bril’dura found the ghost still lingering in the caves of where Tolkl had once lived shortly
before his death. Lord Tolkl knew that Bril’dura would return, claiming that he had foreseen it. Wasting
no time, the ghost passed on what little knowledge he had obtained from Saeda’s Holocron before he
had met his demise. Bril’dura practiced to not view the Force as dark or light, but to view it as a single
Force both living and unified. This required the Twi’lek to not use the Force with uncontrolled rage, but
with sheer willpower. With the calm focus of a Jedi and passionate determination of a Sith, Bril’dura
managed to tap into a power that managed to push him beyond his prior limits.
When Lord Cade arrived on Tatooine, Bril’dura was still a long way from mastering these new
techniques. If he wanted to actually master this new philosophy of the Force, he would need to access
Saeda’s Holocron, for Tolkl’s knowledge of it was limited at best.
Sensing the presence of Lord Cade, Bril’dura made his way out into the open of the Jundland Wastes.
There, he waited, knowing that Cade could sense him as well. When the Sith Lord arrived, they spoke to
one another about the events that had led up to this point. Lord Cade told Bril’dura that he had finally
discovered Vorlen’s grand scheme to have him destroyed without any blame falling on Lord Vorlen.
Cade then began to speak about how Vorlen had arranged for Di'auna’s execution and took steps to ensure that Cade would be the executioner, which would lead to Bril’dura becoming Vorlen’s tool to
eliminate Lord Cade.
Bril’dura refused to believe Lord Cade, and charged toward him with unbridled fury. Lightsabers and
lightning tore through the air as the two fought, igniting the sand into a small furious dust storm. Cade
was clearly stronger than the Twi’lek, and had Bril’dura on the defensive the entire fight. A final volley
of lightning from Lord Cade brought Bril’dura to his knees as it pierced his very being down to the bone.
The smoky remains of the Twi’lek slumped down into the sand, appearing lifeless.
With a determined look on his face, Lord Cade began to walk back to his landspeeder. Meanwhile,
Bril’dura saw visions in his comatose state of Tolkl urging Bril’dura to calm his anger and remain focused
and resolute so that he could tap into the full power of the Force. Subconsciously, Bril’dura managed to
find the strength to will himself to life, using techniques similar to Innervate. Regaining consciousness,
he coughed up blood as he slowly stood up and regained his balance.
As Lord Cade reached his landspeeder, he paused to look back. Impressed that Bril’dura was still alive,
Cade began to approach the Twi’lek once more, to finish the fight. With renewed strength, Bril’dura
blasted a torrent of sand and lightning through Lord Cade, which took the Sith by surprise. While
Cade was stunned from the attack, Bril’dura reached out to the Force and used it to weigh Cade down
under massive pressure. It was now Lord Cade who was on his knees as he summoned up as much of
his strength as he could to fight against the oppressive weight. Using the Force, the Twi’lek removed
his lightsaber from the sand where it had fallen during the fight. Infighting the blade with the Force,
Bril’dura sent the saber up into the air above Lord Cade. When Cade finally broke free of the invisible
burden, he focused on stopping the approaching lightsaber, but it was too late. The yellow blade of the
saber came down and pierced through the chest of the Sith Lord.
While Cade fell to the ground, Bril’dura used the Force to deactivate his lightsaber and bring it back to
his person. Using the last of his strength, Lord Cade called out to Bril’dura as he pulled out a datacard
from his robes and held it up for the Twi’lek to see. Bril’dura approached cautiously, still in massive
pain from his near-death experience. Lord Cade told Bril’dura, with his last dying breath, that on the
datacard was encrypted information that would convince his family to help Bril’dura in taking down Lord
Vorlen. Once he was finally dead, Bril’dura removed the datacard from Cade’s hand. Only Cade’s family
would be able to access the encrypted information on the datacard, so it would be up to Bril’dura to find
out for himself whether Lord Cade was telling the truth or not.
Upon returning to Dromund Kaas, Lord Vorlen congratulated him on defending himself against Lord Cade. It was then pronounced that Bril’dura had earned the title of Lord, and was no longer an apprentice to Lord Vorlen. Shortly after, Lord Vorlen departed for the planet Hoth, to take care of Imperial matters. It was at this time that Lord Bril’dura decided to seek out the truth.
The Twi’lek traveled to the planet Begeren, a place he hadn’t been ever since he was a slave. Utilizing his skills as a Handler of the Night Blades, Bril’dura accessed the databanks at the Imperial compound on Begeren. He discovered that not only had Lord Cade told the truth, but that Vorlen had also ordered the punishment and execution of his old friend Sil'aisdura. With a feeling of betrayel and anger, Bril’dura got in touch with Darth Manos, Cade’s father. He then made a deal with Darth Manos to bring down Lord Vorlen and avenge Cade’s death in return for his assistance.
Upon meeting Darth Manos and his two daughters, Lord Vana and Lord Sehrai, on Dromund Kaas, Bril’dura gave them the datacard that Lord Cade had entrusted him with. A plan was then made to face Lord Vorlen with a surprise attack while he was taking care of business on Hoth. However, the family of Cade Tharis refused to be involved directly. It would be up to Bril’dura alone to face his former master.
Traveling to Hoth, Lord Bril’dura made arrangements to meet Lord Vorlen to discuss news of interesting cargo on a crashed Republic vessel that contained certain confiscated Sith artifacts. The arrangement, of course, was a ruse to keep Lord Vorlen from knowing Bri’dura’s true intentions. As Lord Vorlen waited at the predetermined coordinates with a small squadron of Imperial troops, Bril’dura prepared to spring his trap. Regrettably, Vorlen had already been alerted when the databanks on Begeren were accessed. He had always been prepared for if and when Bril’dura was to ever learn the truth behind his scheme.
As the Twi’lek approached Lord Vorlen, he unknowingly activated a trap that Vorlen had set up earlier. The trap was an old Sith device that threw of Bril’dura’s equilibrium, causing him to be dizzy and feel nauseous. Vorlen took advantage of the opportunity and struck at Bril’dura. The two fought, as the Twi’lek defended himself the best he could. In the end, Bril’dura was not strong enough to face Vorlen and was brought down by a steady stream of Force lightning. Vorlen then proceeded to Force push Bril’dura off the edge of cliff that they had gotten dangerously close to during the fight.
As a snow storm began in the area, Vorlen was unable to seek out and confirm the death of Bril’dura but was highly confident that if he was alive, he would not survive for long out in Hoth’s harsh environment.
Meanwhile, a Jedi Shadow had witnessed the fight from afar. The Mirialan Jedi was drawn to the battle after sensing a strange disturbance in the Force. For a while, he thought he could sense the light side of the Force, but only saw two Sith. The Jedi could sense Vorlen’s strong connection to the dark side of the Force, but from Bril’dura, he sensed something different. It felt like neither the dark or light side of the Force. Intrigued, the young Mirialan made his way down the side of the mountain, trying to get to where the Twi’lek may have fallen. The snow storm made it difficult to proceed, but the Jedi was determined as his curiosity pushed him forward.
Eventually, the Mirialan found Bril’dura unconscious half-buried in snow with flesh that was charred from the Force lightning. Luckily, the fall had not been as far as he first thought. The Jedi confirmed that the Twi’lek was alive, but only barely. Finding a nearby cave, the Mirialan dragged Bril’dura to shelter.
Surviving the night, the Mirialan managed to heal many of Bril’dura’s wounds. Once the Twi’lek regained consciousness, he expressed his gratitude to the Jedi for saving him. The Jedi asked Bril’dura about his unique knowledge of the Force and wanted to Twi’lek to teach it to him. Bril’dura refused, claiming that the Jedi could easily fall down the path of the dark side. Bril’dura had still not mastered what little knowledge of Lord Saeda’s teachings he actually knew. The Twi’lek would have to claim Saeda’s Holocron for his own if he were to ever master such techniques and actually be a match for Lord Vorlen.
Disappointed, but not deterred, the Jedi helped Bril’dura reach one of the local imperial outposts. Before they parted ways, Bril’dura learned that the Jedi’s name was Tobas. He wished the Mirialan luck in his journey, then checked in at the outpost. At the outpost, Bril’dura managed to contact Lord Vana Tharis over the HoloNet and told her of his run-in with Lord Vorlen. He then asked her if she could manage to obtain Saeda’s Holocron from Lord Vorlen’s quarters on Dromund Kaas. After agreeing to help him, Vana put Bril’dura further into the Tharis family’s debt.
The Boundless Struggle
Luckily, the Tharis family was able to obtain Saeda’s Holocron with Bril’dura’s insight on where Lord Vorlen had it stored away. The Tharis family also helped Bril’dura to be safe from any punishment he could receive for attempting to destroy his old master, Lord Vorlen. Of course, Lord Vorlen became aware of Bril’dura’s survival and already began to make plans to eliminate his one last ‘loose end’. Once Bril’dura had Saeda’s Holocron for himself, he tried to distance himself from the Empire as much as possible, so as to stay hidden from Lord Vorlen while he trained. On a remote planet in the Nfolgai system, Bril’dura spent quite awhile in isolation from the rest of the Galaxy as he learned from the holoimage of Lord Saeda.
When Lord Saeda had nothing more he could teach Bril’dura, the Twi’lek began his trip back to Dromund Kaas to challenge Vorlen to a Kaggath, an old Sith tradition that involved a duel to the death. By this time, Lord Vorlen had progressed to the title of Darth Vorlen.
On his way there, he encountered a few bounty hunters that Vorlen had hired to seek him out. One of these bounty hunters was a Corellian named Kodin Fel. Lord Bril’dura was able to defeat the bounty hunter by causing the hunter’s fuel cells in his suit to malfunction and detonate half the suit. After Kodin ripped his burning helmet free from his head, he fell to the ground in immense pain. Bril’dura took the opportunity to see exactly who had hired the hunter. Using the Force to Mind Walk, Bril’dura discovered that the bounty hunter was a part of the same intelligence organization that Lord Vorlen and the Twi’lek were also a part of. Inadvertently, he also learned of many other events in Kodin’s past, including memories of his son, Tobas Fel. Noticing that Kodin’s son was the same Jedi who had saved his life before on Hoth, Bril’dura felt that it be best to begin paying back his life debt by ensuring that Kodin did not die from his injuries. The Twi’lek was able to heal Kodin’s most severe injuries, but his scars would remain, as well as the nerve damage caused by Bril’dura’s Mind Walk. The Twi’lek urged the hunter to seek out medical assistance before he left. All the while, the hunter cursed Bril’dura’s name as he swore that he would destroy the Twi’lek for not allowing him the dignity to die in his broken deformed body.
On Dromund Kaas, Bril’dura fought against Darth Vorlen with many other Sith Lords witnessing the fight. After a long and tiring battle, Bril’dura was finally victorious. After the battle, Bril’dura, accompanied by Lord Vana, traveled to a planet in the Shadola sector after it was discovered that Vorlen had a secret compound there. Upon arriving there, Bril’dura and Lord Vana found loyal disciples of Darth Vorlen. They gave their lives to protect their master’s secrets. Inside the compound, Bril’dura faced the Sith Lord Dessira, who was in charge of running the compound. After defeating her, Bril’dura discovered Darth Vorlen’s secret apprentice, Braccus. This was a native of a tribe on Socorro who was taken from his home by Vorlen when he was only a child. Vorlen renamed him ‘Braccus’ and with the help of Lord Dessira, trained him over the years, outside of the Sith Order.
Braccus’s connection to the Force seemed to be stronger than any other person the Twi’lek had ever met. Bril’dura wished to take the dark-skinned muscular giant as his apprentice, as he sympathized with this human who had also been manipulated by Vorlen. Braccus’s time with Bril’dura was short, for a month later, the Tharis family demanded that Bril’dura deliver Braccus to Korriban to be properly trained as a Sith. Bril’dura was at the mercy of the Tharis family, for it was they who had help to bring him his victory of Lord Vorlen. Bril’dura complied and brought Braccus to Korriban. After Braccus finished his trials, Bril’dura had hoped to regain him as his apprentice, but it was Darth Manos of the Tharis family who swept in and took Braccus as his own apprentice.
As time went on, Bril’dura performed favors for the Tharis family, which the Twi’lek had grown to detest. One favor included traveling to Balmora with Lord Vana to take care of a Jedi who had been killing off Sith apprentices. When they arrived, Bril’dura discovered that the Jedi was Tobas Fel. When Vana demanded that he destroy Tobas, Bril’dura refused, for he had a life debt towards the Mirialan. Instead, Bril’dura was forced to destroy Lord Vana and the rest of the contingent of Imperial troops that had accompanied them. Tobas pleaded that Bril’dura take him on as his apprentice, as the Mirialan had already been kicked out of the Jedi Order for seeking out forbidden knowledge and murdering a few Sith who had been defenseless. Finally, Bril’dura agreed, but would have to keep his apprentice secret.
Returning to Dromand Kaas, Bril’dura, with the help of a few internal allies, had a convincing story to explain the death of Lord Vana and the Imperial escort. The Twi’lek was still concerned that the Tharis family would pursue the matter and suspect Bril’dura, regardless. Fortunately for him, the Tharis family was already in disarray over the loss of Darth Manos. Braccus had challenged the power of Manos and in the end, destroyed him. It was a surprising turn of events that led to Braccus quickly becoming a Sith Lord. Over time, more of the Tharis family started to turn up dead. Many suspected Bril’dura, but none could prove it. This was due to the fact that the deaths were at the hands of Lord Braccus. It seemed as though the quiet giant was much more intelligent and cunning than anyone had given him credit for.
One day, Lord Braccus approached Bril’dura and proclaimed to him that Vorlen’s death would be avenged as his legacy lived on. The Twi’lek suspected that this was all Vorlen’s doing, brainwashing Braccus to ensure that his plans were carried out in case anything were to happen to him. For now, Bril’dura could do little against Braccus, as he had become favored by many of the Darths, some of which sat on the Council. Regardless, the Twi’lek knew that one day he would be forced to face him.
